と言うんだけでも mean "they/we/I say [this thing] but..."
I'm VERY new to Japanese, and just signed up for basic, and am checking the site out. I have a question: after the 'please' bit, it sounded like you said "pleaseと言うんだけでも". Was this the case? If so, were you saying "please, [as though they were saying] [but...]"? I might be way out in left field, here, but I'd love to know how close I came. Thanks!
