Homestay in Japan

Hey everyone,

I am considering traveling to Japan sometime this winter between December 20 - January 20. I am senior in college, majoring in Japanese and Physics, but I have yet to go to Japan, so I have been thinking of some way to go to Japan this winter. I was thinking that doing some type of homestay would be a really neat experience, and I've been doing some web searching for information on homestays in Japan, but haven't been able to find too much.

Has anybody here participated in a homestay to Japan, and do you have any suggestions on how to find a good place to do a homestay in Japan?

Hey Megan, try googling LEX language exchange (program). Thats the one my wife used back when she was a high-schooler. Don't know how the program works, but that is a start.

It's more like a guest house, though.
