Not In the States--maybe Canada ;-) . But the girl was cute I suppose  . This reminds me of one of my Japanese friends and how he was telling me that he really loves AKB48 but if they were 48 guys instead of 48 girls then they wouldn't even be mentioned. Likewise, if they weren't cute they wouldn't be famous. My history teacher from my 11th grade highschool days told the whole class that looks will never get you no where... :? . Well, I guess he never heard of AKB48  .

Well I can attest to the fact that it's always been my cuteness that has gotten me everywhere! People are always nice to me because of my amazing good looks. As a matter of fact I have an entire fan club in England!

Actually there are thousands upon thousands of J-girls that are just as cute as any of the girls in AKB48 and plenty more that are surely more talented. The reason they are famous has little to do with that, but 99% to do with the huge corporate entity and the money behind it all. Also Japan has no shortage of pretty-boy bands as well, though they usually keep the membership in the single digits. :-)

Always remember we live in a society of lemmings. heh

Incidentally there is a Japanese hostess bar in Vancouver where you can meet a girl like that for a twenty dollar cover charge. Think I'll be finding my way there this weekend, since it's been a while. :D

Hmmmm. This is a favorite subject of mine. I think "working for someone" is like being part of the Matrix and not realizing it. Once you are independent you slip out of the Matrix and see it for what it is. The freedom is great however it's not all great as you have these huge holes in your head where you used to be connected to the Matrix and of course food will never be as awesome as it was inside where you were ignorant of the "real world".

On the other hand, you could just end up in The Village.

Hmmmm.... So many iPhones have sold because it is truly and amazing product.
I have purchased 3 android tablets, Toshiba, Asus, and Samsumg, but they don't compare to the iPad...

そうっか。。。。 iPhoneは実に素晴らしい製品だからこそこんなに数が売られている。
私は以前アンドロイドのタブレットを3台買っていますが、しかし、iPadとは比べ物にはならないです。

You can't really say we are all lemmings because we choose the same high quality product.
How come people don't say this about HP laptops? I have purchased HP exclusively for 5 years and SO many people have them :-)

Funny how you started the conversation with the iPhone and then quickly switched to the iPad :P

I would agree that the iPad is currently the best tablet money could buy (especially if you jailbreak it).

The iPhone? Not so much. It's not amazing as it used to be. There are several other phones that offer better value-for-money for a guy like me (e.g. Galaxy Nexus, the new HTC One series or the Lumia 900).

This is quite subjective, I must say, before anyone jumps the gun and starts the flame war! I still think the 4(S) has one of the best designs out there (although it's quite fragile). Many people still see the value in that as evidenced by it still being the best selling phone. Now whether that's because of its quality or reputation is open for discussion (but doesn't really interest me).

The idea is not to be attached to a specific brand for the heck of it... the company that provides the best value shall get my money; and only if I truly need that product (as opposed to just wanting it).

Agree with what Musouka said. And George, you won't find any argument from me about the quality of Apple products. They truly are superior in design, and the OS is the most highly polished of any mobile product (although not the most functional).

The point I was trying to make about iPhones and lemmings is that SOOO many people have purchased an iPhone simply because that's what everyone else has. They don't bother to do their own research and figure out what best meets their needs.

I'm not a hater either. I've purchased and iPad2 and iPhone4S for my wife because they were the best products to suit what she wanted to do with them.

How did we go from the cute j-girl in the video to tech wars?! Let's get back to the cute j-girl. I enjoy watching her do her dance and the pureness of the j-girl mind...so innocent and pure...free from a Miami, FL, childhood that never corrupted her mind and free from any big U.S. city(like L.A. or N.Y) telling her to toughen up or else. She just does what she does and I love her for that! If I need any JP study mojo I know where to go ;-) . I will hit up the streets of tokyo this summer. I just booked my hotel in Shibuya district, it's called hotel Fukudaya. I am sure I will find many cute j-girls on my 12 day stay in JP. Yeah, life is good 8) .

Reminds me... a while back there was a lottery going on around here for like, 40 million or something. The woman at the till said to me, "So you gonna buy a ticket?" I said, "Nah, if I win then there's no challenge anymore." :-)

Well, there is an ongoing controversy about that McDonald's Lady claiming she won the Jackpot in Maryland (and her coworkers' dismay)... it seems this will turn into another Balloon Boy saga  Even if she ended up finding the 'misplaced' ticket, she will end up developing some enemies in the process.

PSA: Facebook is buying Instagram so expect more people to flood it (several iOS users were complaining about the arrival of the Android 'sheeple' so they will be more than delighted with the FB crowds)
