You could say that うち (UCHI) means "home" and いえ (IE) means "house." However they are relatively interchangeable. So うち can mean "house" just like いえ can. うち also has more of a personal feeling to it.
1. わたしの うちは あれです。(WATASHI NO UCHI WA ARE DESU) = My house is that one over there. 2. うちに かえります。(UCHI NI KAERIMASU) = I am going home. 3. ともだちの うちに いきます。(TOMODACHI NO UCHI NI IKIMASU) = I am going to my friend’s house.
