member since 2009 Dec 25 Questions: 3 Comments: 0 | I noticed that when "り" follows "ん" It sounds more like "di" than "ri". Is this the same case as the gambaru/ganbaru question where it's just that the mouth has a hard time producing the りsound when following an ん, or is there some sort of grammatical rule, or am I retarded and not hearing it right?

I can't remember which show I discussed this on, but I 100% agree that BENRI and KANRI are hard to say! It's almost like a tongue twister. If you produce the N sound more nasal then it is flows out much more naturally. Try it out. George
