![]() member since 2006 Oct 25 Questions: 11 Comments: 8 | I need some advice. I have to keep relearning lesson 1 in course 3 because I can't remember when to use kono or kyuu or ku. But I have the Kanji for numbers memorized. Do you think I should continue on or should I try harder to memorize them?

I see that you are using the progressive version of the site. This is good if you don't know Hiragana and Katakana and are just learning Kanji. If you only know Kanji but not Hiragana YOU ARE IN TROUBLE. Kanji is almost worthless with the Hiragana. If this is the case I recommend you go back and learn the Hiragana and Katakana first. After you know those you can set the lesson version to "Kanji +" and then set the sound pop up box to display in "Hiragana / Katakana" version or "Romaji" depending on how well you learned!

kokono is only use for 9 (kokonoka & kokonotsu) 19, 29, 39 etc use ku/ kyuu. Of course 9 years old is kyuusai, September is kugatsu, 9 o'clock is kuji. 19 days juu kunich/ kyuunichi. So basically ganbare!
